These shops in India don’t have shopkeepers and they can pay as they please!

A series of unmanned ‘Trust shops’ have in Bengaluru-India, without any shopkeepers, cash machines or camera surveillance. They run on good faith, with the customers free to pay what they like.

Started by a food company ‘ID Fresh shops’ these shops have series of refrigerates offering preservative-free fresh Indian food, Customers can pick whatever they want and they can pay the money at the cash box placed in the front, or pay in installments, if they’re not carrying enough cash.


There are already 17 iD trust shops in Bengaluru as of now, with more being planned for the cities of Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

We had faith that people would hold up their end of the deal,” Kumar says. “The idea is not transactional, but larger than life.

Now, We all have same question in mind, Does this idea work? Surprisingly yes!

Most shops see 90% payments and even 100% in some of them on a daily basis…
